KPU joins ResearchImpact
Metro Vancouver, BC – Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) was successful in its application to become a member of ResearchImpact (RIR), a pan-Canadian group of universities that provides knowledge mobilization services to universities, communities and government agencies. Knowledge mobilization connects research and researchers with people and organizations seeking to develop sustainable solutions to social, environmental, economic and cultural challenges.
ResearchImpact was formed in 2006 as a partnership between York University and the University of Victoria. The partnership quickly expanded to include four other traditional universities from across Canada – University of Guelph, University of Quebec at Montreal, University of Saskatchewan and the Harris Centre at Memorial University. This past winter a formal call was made to all Canadian universities to apply to become part of ResearchImpact. KPU and three other universities – Carleton University, Université de Montreal and Laurier University – were successful in their applications to become members. KPU is now the only university in Canada’s foremost knowledge mobilization network to have recently been granted university status.
