About Nico Hache

Nico Hache’s love of plants began at Kwantlen University College in Surrey BC. He received a diploma in greenhouse and nursery production with an emphasis on integrated pest management. Following his studies, he continued to live in BC, propagating a variety of crops from food to ornamental. He practiced his craft for several years until moving back to the Maritimes where he landed a coveted greenhouse position.

While working for one of Canada’s leading forestry companies he achieved a green belt in lean six sigma. His process improvement lead to a better root system for the trees, over 120 Million of them! Not only were the trees healthier but the company ended up saving over $500K annually.

Today Nico has the opportunity to live in his home town and pursue his passion for growing plants. As director of grow operations at OrganiGram, he and his team are pushing the envelope of organic horticulture in the regulated medical marijuana industry. They are continuously perfecting their methods and even developing a few new ones in the process.
