(UBC)I have been teaching English courses in this department at KPU since 1999 and have enjoyed our small class sizes where I get to meet students with a variety of interesting backgrounds and interests. My own professional development time is spent on investigating how learners best learn. Being a hockey and baseball coach I see parallels in how athletes and writers develop their skills through thoughtful instruction and concentrated practice. My other interests include watching all kinds of films, hiking and travelling off the beaten path - physically and intellectually.
