Apprenticeship Waitlist Registration Process

Regulations regarding waitlist registration, fee payment deadlines, refunds of tuition, and withdrawals are unique for apprenticeship levels.

 

Waitlist Registration

Apprentices can register in an apprentice waitlist by completing the Apprenticeship Registration Request Form (forms must be sent to Apprentice Services or Student Enrolment Services). When registering in an apprenticeship waitlist the Apprentice Evaluation Fee or Tuition and Fees will not be assessed. 

  • Before registering in a waitlist, it is important to ensure:
    • You will meet the ITA published registration requirements for the intake you are wait listing.
    • Financial holds are cleared from your account; these holds prevent future registration.

 

Waitlist Qualifying Process

Apprentice Services will evaluate your waitlist registration requests utilizing your apprentice records through Industry Training Authority Direct Access system to ensure that you have met the ITA published registration requirements for the apprenticeship level you have waitlisted.  If there is a need for clarification of your records or an outstanding registration requirement has been identified you will receive a notification.  It is important that you respond to Apprentice Services.

 

Seat Offer Notification

Seat offer notifications are sent to your myKwantlen email address as soon as a seat becomes available (based on the waitlist registration priority). Each apprentice who receives a notification will be given a deadline to either accept or decline their registration by contacting Apprentice Services.

It is important that you take responsibility for your waitlist registration and to check your myKwantlen email account daily to ensure that you do not miss an email notification.  This email is the ONLY notification that you will receive regarding the availability of a seat in a class with a waitlist.

 

Acceptance of Seat Offer from Waitlist

Each apprentice who receives a notification will be given a deadline to either accept or decline their registration offer by contacting Apprentice Services or Student Enrolment Services.  Upon acceptance of the tuition in full, the regulations regarding fee payment deadlines, refunds of tuition and withdrawals will be applied (see Refunds and Fee Adjustments Rules).   The Apprentice Registration Process will be applied.

 

Decline/No Response of Seat Offer from Waitlist

Each apprentice who receives a notification will be given a deadline to either accept or decline their registration by contacting Apprentice Services or Student Enrolment Services.  If you do not respond within the stated timelines, no further notification will be provided and you will be removed from the waitlist. Subsequently, the next student on the waitlist priority will be sent a notification.
