Borealis String Quartet-In-Residence

Borealis String Quartet-In-Residence & KPU

Since May 2014 the Borealis String Quartet has served as String Quartet-in-Residence at KPU.

One of the most dynamic and exciting world-class ensembles of its generation, the Borealis String Quartet has received international critical acclaim as an ensemble praised for its fiery performances, passionate style, and refined, musical interpretation.

Founded in Vancouver, British Columbia in 2000 and rapidly establishing a stellar reputation, the Borealis has toured extensively internationally, performing to sold out audiences  in New York, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Rome, Mainz, Shanghai, Taipei, Beijing, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and, of course, in their home town of Vancouver.

In recent years, the Borealis has also been invited to establishing outreach programs and giving extensive and regular master classes at universities and schools and we're excited to have them here at KPU!

The Borealis is dedicated to bringing music to our local schools, with upcoming collaborations with the Langley Fine Arts, the Surrey Youth Symphony Orchestra and a String Festival series here at our own university.  The Borealis are committed to bringing new, exciting programs and scholarships that prepare our students for greatness.

KPU’s next generation of string musicians will have the extra-ordinary experience learning, engaging and playing with this amazing quartet – simply another one of the reasons KPU Music shines.

We look forward to sharing this experience with you!
