Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Accounting

Your fast-track to the CPA designation

In just 12 months you can complete your post-baccalaureate diploma in accounting and be on your way to a CPA designation. The PBDA is fully endorsed by the CPA and all courses are eligible for professional education entry requirements.

Program Description

The PBDA is a set of 14 courses (48 credits) designed to meet the entrance requirements for the Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation's Professional Education Program (PEP). After completing KPU's PBDA, students should have the knowledge and skills to gain entrance to, and succeed in, this intensive program.

Taking courses full-time, a student can complete the PBDA in as few as 12 months. Students planning to work or who have other commitments may take courses part-time as their schedule allows. The program can be started in any term (Fall, Spring or Summer), beginning September 2017. Six foundational courses may be transferred in or completed beginning as early as January 2017.

Six foundational-level courses are required for graduation from the PBDA:

Tuition is charged per course and varies with the number of credits. Tuition is competitive with other similar programs but offers the benefits of faster completion, small classroom setting, face-to-face interaction with dedicated instructors and brand new facilities.

Careers and Future Possibilities

Students graduating with the PBDA will be sought after by industry, public practice, government and non-profit organizations. Accounting jobs are considered a high opportunity occupation and are in high demand both in Canada and internationally. KPU's Career Services can help support PBDA students find employment after graduation.

To gain entrance to the CPA PEP program, an average of 65% must be met overall. Foundational-level courses must be passed (50% or above) and Post-Baccalaureate courses must have a minimum grade of 60% in each course.
