International Students

KPU's approach to education, that blends academic and applied learning, attracts international students from over 70 countries worldwide.

KPU offers international students various resources to help them succeed in their studies:

  • International Student Orientation allows international students to meet classmates, learn about campus life, and ask questions they may have before the semester starts.
  • Educational Advising for international students helps individual students develop an educational plan and address any other matters related to transitioning to university life in Canada.
  • International Peer Tutors help international students with coursework and can offer advice about ways to integrate in campus life and Canadian life.
  • Student Life Activities and Clubs allow international students to establish social connections and have an enriched university experience. Events are held on and off campus, and there are 35 different student clubs students can join. KPU is home to the Eagles who proudly represent us in badminton, basketball, golf, and soccer. We also have a variety of recreational programs and a gymnasium and a dedicated fitness center.

Volunteer, Work, and Internship Opportunities

International students are encouraged to gain experience and knowledge in their field of study through volunteer, work and internship opportunities. There are many resources and support services that are available to assist international students in understanding the Canadian workplace, preparing their resumes and get experience doing interviews. Work opportunities are supported through the co-operative education and career services office at KPU.  KPU International will assist in ensuring you have the appropriate documents to successfully work in Canada. International students with an interest in working or volunteering should make an appointment to see an advisor at kpu.ca/advising/advisor-connect.
