Lifestyle and Choices for Wellness

Students will explore the concept of wellness and the components of a health-enhancing lifestyle. They will reflect on their own experience of wellness, recognizing challenges and resources that may impact on their lifestyle choices and consequently, their health.

Health and Healing

Students will develop a theoretical framework for practice. They will examine the caring philosophy and concepts underlying competent practice with the primary emphasis on care of older adults.

Communication Skills in Health Care

Students will study communication theory and practice. They will learn skills required to communicate helpfully and effectively with residents, families and the health care team.
