Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting

DESCRIPTION

The Bachelor of Business Administration Program provides full and part-time intensive study for students wishing to earn a business degree from Kwantlen.

This degree is an appropriate goal for students who want to study beyond a diploma and their initial two-year equivalent post-secondary education. Students enter the program directly in Year 1 or in Year 3 after successfully completing an accounting diploma from a recognized college, institute or university with a minimum of 60 credits and a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher.

The BBA degree program integrates skills and concepts of advanced accounting, business and leadership.

Degree classes are scheduled for days and evenings to allow students to either further their education while maintaining current employment or study full-time. Many students in year 3 and year 4 are also working.

Some unique features of this program are:

  • Full block transfer allows accounting diploma graduates from recognized colleges and university programs to enter the program in Year 3
  • Learning partnerships with business, applied projects and assignments and ongoing work experience ensure graduates acquire the applied skills so valued by employers
  • Prior learning assessment allows mid career learners with appropriate work experience to enhance professional qualifications
  • The program is structured to allow students to proceed at the pace that their personal and professional commitments allow
Options: Regular and Co-op Mode

Students may graduate from either the regular Bachelor of Business Administration degree or the optional Co-operative Education option. Students applying for Co-op must complete all prescribed courses with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.

A Co-operative Education designation requires 120 credit hours of course work and successful completion of the following:

  • COOP 1101 (Job Search Techniques)
  • Two four-month work terms or one eight-month work term

Please refer to the Co-operative Education section of the calendar or contact the Co-op Education department at 604.599.2664 for more information on the Co-op option.
