This course focuses on various techniques for material and capacity scheduling. This module includes a detailed explanation of material requirements planning (MRP), a technique suitable for use in job shops. Another material planning technique, material-dominated scheduling, which is applicable to process industries and other mature production environments is also discussed. Included: Understanding inventory planning concepts, policies, methodologies, and techniques, determine part stocking levels, order quantities, safety stocks, forecasts, and handling and storage requirements, including global supply chain risks.
