KPU Whistler Design Experience
Thanks to the collaborative and dedicated teams at both the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) and Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s (KPU) Wilson School of Design, an exciting new partnership has been developed.
With the inspiration so easily provided by the geography and community of Whistler and the KPU design faculty, our team collaborated with design professionals in the industry to create a robust week-long program that generated a lot of interest and input from potential students.
With feedback from interested participants, guest speakers and the community, KPU and RMOW have made the decision to postpone the inaugural “Whistler Design Experience”, originally scheduled for July 10-17, and will work towards providing alternative course structures to meet demonstrated demand.
Thank you again to the tireless efforts of our staff, faculty and our partners at the Resort Municipality of Whistler for your commitment to bring Design Education to new heights! Please stay tuned for upcoming announcements regarding new Whistler programming.
Set within the majestic Coast Mountains of British Columbia, Canada and hosted by Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s (KPU) Wilson School of Design, the KPU Whistler Design Experience provides participants with a unique opportunity to experience the renowned Resort Municipality of Whistler as never before - through the lens of design.
As a part of an interdisciplinary group of students and professionals from around the world, participants will be immersed in the area’s natural beauty and will explore the complex interplay between design, nature and local culture.
This program will include excursions through the popular Whistler Village, scenic parks and trails and numerous cultural landmarks. Participants will be connected with Whistler’s creative community where a focus on the importance of collaborative design as a practice will be highlighted.
