Energy Sources for a Sustainable Future

KPU Richmond
KPU Richmond - Melville Centre for Dialogue

Description:

As the age of cheap oil and fossil fuels is coming to an end, humanity will face an energy crisis. Many alternative energy sources have already been identified. However, there is no optimal solution to replace fossil fuels on a short time scale with new sources that are economically viable and environmentally sustainable in the long term. Join visiting Professor Dr. Federico Rosei as he describes a general picture of the looming energy crisis and discusses possible solutions involving the use of advanced materials and nanotechnology for energy saving, energy storage and energy conversion.

Lecture presented by the Department of Physics at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) as part of the CAP Lecture Tour. Doors open at 6:30pm. Please RSVP at link above.
