Dual Credit

Grade 12 students have the opportunity to get started on their university education and earn high school credits - at the same time through one of KPU's dual credit pathways:

  • Surrey On-Campus, for students who live in the Surrey school district and are interested in arts, social sciences or business
  • Surrey On-Campus: Aboriginal Stream for students who live in the Surrey school district and are interested in studying Aboriginal culture
  • Langley Xcel, for students who live in the Langley school district and are interested in arts, social sciences or business
  • LinK38, for students who live in the Richmond school district and interested in arts, social sciences or business
  • Youth Train in Trades (formerly ACE-IT), for students who are interested in the trades and technology
  • Ace-It, for students who are interested in the trades and technology
  • Concurrent Studies, for students who would like to take a course or two, outside of the other formal partnerships (*note* this is not tuition-free)

These pathways help transition students from secondary school to university and the workplace while earning both high school graduation and university credits. Students can attend KPU while still finishing school, and get a sneak peek into the post-secondary scene.

Courses offered at KPU - There are several university courses open to secondary students during their grade 12 year - check out the list and plan ahead to get a seat and register - seats are limited. Students can apply while in grade 11 for grade 12.

Benefits:

  • Tuition fees are covered by select school districts
  • Application fee is covered by KPU
  • KPU student fees are waived
  • Students only incur costs for textbooks and materials for KPU courses
