DIVISIONAL PROGRAM TECHNICIAN - METAL TRADES – Competition Number 14 – 42R
The Faculty of Trades and Technology is currently seeking a regular part-time (32.5 hr/wk) Divisional Program Technician - Metal Trades to support our metal trades programs. The successful candidate will provide support and assistance to students and faculty by providing demonstrations, monitoring shop work and maintaining inventory and repairs of workshop materials, tools and equipment. This unionized position covers the evening shift from 3:00 to 10:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Minimum qualifications include TQ or Pre Apprentice Training in Welding/Millwright; C level welding experience required – welding ticket an asset, extensive demonstrated experience in the safe use of shop equipment, tools and machinery (inclusive of basic repairs and maintenance), demonstrated knowledge of WHMIS, safe work procedures, experience in monitoring student activity in a shop environment, and competence in Microsoft Outlook and MS Office. Also required is the ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and the physical ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds.

Kwantlen Polytechnic University seeks a highly motivated individual for a unique, 18 month position. The Coordinator, University Space Administration plays a key role in the operation of the Space Administration department acting as the first point of contact for the department, thoroughly and tactfully responding to requests and issues. The Coordinator develops procedures, standards and benchmarks in support of a coordinated, university wide approach to space administration. In carrying out his/her responsibilities, the Coordinator analyzes and interprets complex space administration issues, researches options and recommends solutions. The Coordinator is also responsible for the establishment and implementation a university space database and providing administrative support to space related committees.
Qualified candidates will have:
- A baccalaureate degree business, public administration, public policy or a related field, and three years related experience working in a complex administrative environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of space administration, KPU’s programs and services, and the broader B.C. post-secondary system, will be an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing administrative procedures, standards and benchmarks.
- A high level of initiative and the ability to work independently.
- The ability to manage interpersonal relationships and conflict at a professional level.
- The ability to exercise good judgment, particularly in resolving problems and comprehending a wide range of information including legal, policy and financial documents.
- A valid BC driver’s licence as this position requires intercampus travel.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo testing in Microsoft Office suite and written communication, quantitative skills, and typing.
The salary range for this position is $47,101 - $52,634 plus an attractive benefits package.

Commencing immediately Kwantlen Polytechnic University Coast Captial Savings Library is looking for a Library Assistant to perform general circulation duties at the Surrey Campus Library. The shifts are: Wednesday 6:15 pm-11:15 pm and Saturday 9:45 am-1:45 pm.
The minimum requirements for the position are related training with approximately two year’s current library experience. Applicants possessing a Library Technician Diploma will be given preference.
