INSTRUCTIONAL ASSOCIATE - ACCESS PROGRAMS FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES - Competition Number 14-111A

KPU is seeking applications for on-call auxiliary Instructional Associates for our Access Programs for People with Disabilities (APPD) Department which is on Richmond, Surrey, and Langley Campuses.

Using your exceptional communication abilities, you will provide assistance and support to students with multiple barriers to employment and liaise with faculty and staff. You will provide instruction, prepare classroom materials and training aids; identify, coordinate, and monitor work experience placements; support students with learning strategies in their work placements; contribute to the completion of student evaluations; and provide support to employers. You will also attend and participate in community events and perform administrative functions.  
 
Minimum qualifications for this position are a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Education or Adult Special Education plus a minimum of three years’ recent experience working with adults with cognitive disabilities. The ability to prepare classroom material and training aids as well as knowledge of the community including local business and community agencies is essential.

LEARNING CENTRE ASSISTANTS (On-call Auxiliary) – Competition Number 14-148A

The Learning Centres at Kwantlen Polytechnic University are currently seeking On-call or Auxiliary Learning Centre Assistants to provide instruction, assistance with access to learning support facilities and resources, and reception and administrative support functions.  This position may also be required to provide tutoring support in an area of competence (Math, English, ESL, writing, reading, study strategies). Commencing immediately this position is on-call and will be required work at any of our four campuses in Richmond, Surrey, Cloverdale or Langley. 

Minimum qualifications include Post secondary degree or an equivalent combination of training and a minimum of one year experience in a similar environment.  A demonstrated relevant knowledge and skill teaching Math, English, ESL, reading or writing is required along with a proven ability to communicate ideas, applications, and approaches to learning through speech, writing and demonstration.  The proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of varied backgrounds along with the ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly with students, faculty, staff and members of the community are required.

ACCOUNTING ANALYST – Competition Number 14-149A

 

Commencing immediately Kwantlen Polytechnic University requires a full-time Accounting Analyst for a term of approximately one year in our Finance department located in Langley, BC.  The primary function of this position is to provide analysis, reporting, guidance, and support to the Kwantlen Polytechnic University community on financial information relating to Accounting, Accounts Receivable and Banking.

Minimum requirements include completion of the third (3rd) level of the CGA/CMA program at a recognized institution plus three years related experience, preferably in the public sector, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  The successful candidate will have a demonstrated working knowledge of integrated accounting systems; a demonstrated knowledge of common PC applications software such as spreadsheet, database and word processing; and a demonstrated ability to communicate courteously and effectively in English both verbally and in writing.  The candidate must also have demonstrated ability to exercise judgment to work and complete assignments with minimal supervision.  The salary range for this position is $26.59-$29.74/hour or $1861.30-$2081.80 bi-weekly.
