Kwantlen student beats out 200 candidates to be named the 'Next best thing in fashion'

METRO VANCOUVER, BC – (January 16, 2012) – She hosted a fashion show, offered free makeovers and fashion advice, and held a clothing drive for Vancouver's Downtown Eastside residents, and ultimately was named the winner of Blackberry's BBM Fashion Challenge. Kwantlen Polytechnic University student Theresa Tran entered the 8-week contest that was targeted to youths, encouraging them to show off their fashion, film, pop culture, sports, entrepreneurship or music talents documenting it all on their Blackberry, of course. The Fashion Marketing Diploma student naturally chose Fashion.

"Fashion is my true love. I'm excited to travel the world wherever my imagination takes me and use that experience to become an inimitable designer," said Tran.

The first place her talent will take her is to New York City. As the winner of the Challenge, Tran will be flying to New York to meet MTV reality star and fashion designer, Whitney Port, who hosted the Fashion Challenge. Port, who dubbed Tran as her Protégé, said: "Theresa has a real eye for style and I'm looking forward to meeting her to discuss all things fashion."
