Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s AIESEC (pronounced I-sek) invites you to their first speaker series, known as KED Talks - Kwantlen Educational Development Talks.
"KED Talks is the brainchild of AIESEC KPU,” says Joseph Watson-MacKay, official organizing committee president, AIESEC, Kwantlen Polytechnic University. “Taking inspiration from the well-known speaker series, TED Talks, we imagined KED Talks as the perfect way to give back to our community. These talks will give us a reason to step out of our comfort zones and spark a movement of growth, participation and interaction among people seeking more than a certificate out of their university experience."
Through workshops and numerous speakers specializing in subjects such as, emotional intelligence, social media and technology, and networking and communication, AIESEC hopes to give all attendees an edge before graduation. KED Talks will serve as the platform for exchanging ideas and bridging the gap between education of the professional world and the classroom.
KED Talks take place at Kwantlen’s Surrey campus conference centre “A” from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The next KED Talks,Networking and Communication, will take place this Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
AIESEC is the world’s largest, entirely student-run, not-for-profit organization. It operates in over 110 countries and territories with over 60,000 members. The acronym originates from Association Internationale des Étudiants En Sciences Économiques et Commerciales; a name which no longer fits the scope of the organization that now encompasses more than just business students. The group aims to empower young people by gaining leadership and experience through volunteering with a local chapter and the chance to participate in AIESEC exchange programs.
