BRAZIL.....While the rest of the athletics staff get their World Cup 2014 fix from their chairs at Grass Roots, KPU men's soccer head coach Srdjan Djekanovic is in the stands in Brazil. Djekanovic is no stranger to elite soccer as a former two-time CIS National Champion with the UBC Thunderbirds and former pro for the Vancouver Whitecaps, Toronto FC, and Montreal Impact.

Djekanovic is in his second year of coaching at KPU, and also serves as director and head coach of Primo Sports Soccer Academy. He is pictured with his father, Goran Djekanovic who is the KPU men's soccer program's biggest fan.

Djekanovic and the men's soccer team take to the field for pre-season play in August 2014. The 2014-15 regular season kicks off on home turf at Newton Athletic Park on Wednesday, September 3 versus Capilano. The women's game starts at 5:00pm PST and the men's game starts at 7:00pm PST.
