Uppal & Rimmer KPU Eagles/Sheraton Vancouver Guildford 'Athletes of the Week', week ending Sunday, September 14, 2014

Metro Vancouver.....The KPU Eagles are proud to announce their Sheraton Vancouver Guildford 'Athletes of the Week' for the week ending Sunday, September 14, 2014 as Harlene Uppal and Lucas Rimmer, both of Surrey, BC.

Uppal is in her second year with the Eagles women's soccer program and is being recognized for her strength as a midfielder to not only provide support to the defense but in her ability to offensively produce as well. In last Saturday's match versus the Quest University Kermodes, Uppal's goal brought the Eagles back from a 1-0 deficit in the 84th minute to a game-saving tie.

Rimmer is a veteran of the KPU men's soccer program and the fifth-year defender is being recognized for his consistent and strong play in both matches over the weekend versus the Quest University Kermodes and the VIU Mariners. Of particular note, Rimmer and the backline were able to stop an aggressive VIU offense from scoring all game thus breaking the Mariner's season-long winning streak.
