A world of opportunity awaits at annual KPU Richmond open house

Fri, Oct 14, 2016

Richmond, B.C. – Curious about post-secondary possibilities? Find what you want at the annual KPU Richmond open house.

The Richmond campus of Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) is throwing open its doors to the public for its third annual open house on Friday, Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

KPU Richmond will be a hub of activity, creativity, and inspiration. Visitors can check out interactive exhibits, listen to mini lectures, connect with instructors, students, and alumni, and take a campus tour. There will be prizes, food trucks, live entertainment, trivia and games, a photo booth, and henna art.

While learning about what sets a polytechnic university apart, visitors will be able to watch fire dance in the physics lab, pose for a “Shakespeare selfie” in the English department, and have their blood pressure checked by KPU nursing students. Attendees can also win prizes—including a $500 tuition waiver—by tweeting & posting to Instagram at the open house using the hashtag #KPUOpenHouse.

“It’s our chance to connect with the community and showcase everything KPU has to offer: from unique programs and innovative approaches to hands-on education, to the learning opportunities outside of the classroom,” said KPU President and Vice-Chancellor Alan Davis. “We enthusiastically invite the community to join us to learn about the polytechnic advantage.”

While not required, advance registration is recommended at kpu.ca/openhouse.

KPU Richmond is located at 8771 Lansdowne Rd. Parking is free for this event. For more information, contact the KPU Future Students’ Office at 604-599-3030 or email openhouse@kpu.ca.
