Overview

Since our beginning, Kwantlen has been developing and improving a sustainability and resource management plan and implementing energy efficiency projects.

As a result of this ongoing work we have received a number of awards in recognition which are listed below.

• 2002 we received the Leadership Award under the Colleges and Universities sector (for 2002) for outstanding environmental efforts reducing greenhouse gas emissions and for being the top Canadian post-secondary Institution in "going green." 
• 2002 we received the “Power Smart Partner Excellence Award” from BCHydro
• 2004 we received the “Power Smart Certified Energy Efficiency Leader” designation from BCHydro
• 2008 we received the “Excellence in Energy Management” award from BCHydro
• 2009 we were designated a “BCHydro Power Smart Leader” (only 7 in province)
• 2010 we were designated a “BCHydro Power Smart Leader” (only 13 in province)
• 2012 we have been recognized with BC Hydro's Power Smart Excellence Award
• 2014 we have been recognized with BC Hydro's Power Smart Excellence Award
