Field Trips to Local High Schools for KPU Faculty
Curious about what happens inside local high school classrooms, and wonder about what students are learning before they enter KPU? Nancy Norman, Teaching Fellow, K-12 Transformation is organizing field trips for KPU faculty to visit local high school classes to observe teachers and students in action.  Details & Registration

Open Access Week 2018

International Open Access Week is a global, community-driven week of action to open up access to research. The event is celebrated by individuals, institutions and organizations across the world.

Oct 22-28 @ KPU: The library will be hosting 3 different workshops, in 4 separate offerings for your scheduling convenience:

· Launch your own OJS journal: Get a tour of OJS from KPU Librarians and learn how it can support your course or journal.
· Create and adapt using Pressbooks: Learn how to make accessible open textbooks.
· ZED CRED READY: Update your course so it has zero textbook costs! Find out how to embed library resources into your course web sites.

Oct 24 @ SFU Vancouver: Open but not Free: Invisible Labour in Open Scholarship
On Wednesday evening please join SFU, BCIT, KPU, Langara, UFV and UBC and the BC Open Education Librarians (BCOEL) group for this panel event on the topic of invisible labour in open scholarship. Enjoy an evening downtown for a panel and discussion on invisible labour, sustainability, participation and exclusion as they relate to Open Education.
