NEST program

Students who have not passed level 1 (N1) or level 2 (N2) of the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), are required to take the NEST Program. 

Toyo University offers 10 credits of intense Japanese language and culture courses per semester. The goal of the courses is to help the exchange students increase their proficiency to a level that allows them to pursue their academic interests and enjoy campus life to the fullest.

Courses offered by the faculty of Letters, Economics, Business Administration, Law, Sociology, Regional Development Studies, Global and Regional Studies and International Tourism management.

Most courses are taught in Japanese but some are taught in English.

Full Year: September to August or April to January

Note: Changing the length of your period of study after submitting your application documents (after you've been nominated as an exchange student by KPU) to Toyo University (from a semester to a year, or a year to a semester) is not allowed. Please make sure of your desired length of study before submitting your application.
