How to get your Compass Card and U-Pass BC

Getting your Compass Card

When you get a Compass Card, you'll pay a $6 refundable deposit. You can get your $6 deposit back by returning your card to the Compass Customer Service Centre at Stadium–Chinatown Station. For more information about the Compass Card, visit the Translink website

Please note: On the 16th of every month, eligible students will be able to request their U-Pass BC online through the Translink U-Pass BC website for the following month. Please keep in mind it may take up to 24 hours to load.  

Students will need their KPU Card in addition to the Compass Card to ensure validity. KPU Cards are available at the library of each campus. Information on how to get a KPU Card is as follows:

The KPU Card (Library card/Student I.D.)

  • Serves as your student identification card
  • Must be presented in order to borrow library materials and equipment
  • Can be loaded with cash value for photocopying and printing
