Will conditional admission for current BC high school students be impacted by school closures?

The Ministry of Education is committed to ensuring high school students are able to complete their academic year. As such KPU is still expecting to receive final transcripts at the end of July.  We are being mindful within our admissions practices to ensure that your offer isn’t disadvantaged by the disruptions caused by COVID-19.

BC students currently in high school will need to ensure they have released their transcript to KPU via the BC Ministry of Education Student Transcripts Service (STS).  When KPU receives final high school transcripts at the end of July, final admission will be assessed based on the conditions outlined in your offer of admission.  If you are concerned about your final grades or your application, please feel free to contact the admissions team at admissions@kpu.ca

I want to complete online high school courses for graduation. Will you accept grades for online classes?

Yes, as long as we receive your final official high school transcript by the end of July from the BC Ministry with the final grades showing, we will consider these when assessing admission.

I have outstanding documents for a Limited Intake program. Will you be extending the deadlines to submit these documents?

We encourage you to submit all outstanding documents as outlined in your Application Checklist.  However, we understand that each applicant’s situation is different; please contact with your Admissions Officer via email to discuss your options.

Are applications for Trades Foundation programs still open?

Yes, applications for our trades foundation programs are still open.  Although some of our programs have been postponed, updates regarding upcoming intakes will be posted in the Admissions Guide.

Can I defer my admission?

If you are admitted to an Open Intake and plan not to attend KPU for that term, you may request to defer your admission prior to the start of classes.
