Michelle Walks PhD, UBC (Okanagan)
Michelle Walks is a feminist medical anthropologist whose work focuses on reproductive justice. Michelle’s research has been interdisciplinary and community-based, mostly focusing on queer reproduction in BC. She acquired her Interdisciplinary PhD in Anthropology and Gender & Women’s Studies from UBC (Okanagan), and she now teaches Anthropology, Sociology, and Gender, Sexuality, & Women’s Studies at various post-secondary institutions in BC and the Yukon. As an undergraduate, Michelle took her first anthropology class at Kwantlen. She is excited to come full-circle and now share her passion for anthropology with her KPU students, sparking their interest in this discipline!
