Certificate In Automotive Service Technician

DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this program is to provide students with skills and knowledge required to be employed as an apprentice automotive service technician. This program is appropriate for students entering the industry on a permanent basis.

Hands-on shop experience is the basis from which skills are developed in the program. This program is developed around the individual needs of students and these needs will determine the length of the student’s time in the program. The program is designed to accommodate past experience: credit and/or advancement will take place if students can demonstrate learned skills and theoretical knowledge. This format will permit students who have completed shop training in secondary schools to apply these credits to Kwantlen’s program.

Students who complete the Entry Level Trades Training (ELTT) are eligible for credit for first year apprenticeship technical training. For further information you can also visit the Trades website at www.kwantlen.ca/trades
