Research Projects

KPU Bio-Innovation Lab staff and students are engaged in several projects at any given time, both in partnership with various industries and as student research initiatives.  Projects focus largely on the use of genomic and metabolomic tools to explore and aid in resolving issues in agricultural practice in order to improve crop consistency, crop yield, and animal health, and to provide options for sustainable farming methods in British Columbia and beyond.  Human health, particularly improvements in the understanding of certain neurological disorders, is also the target of ongoing research within the lab.
