Using Powerpoint to design effective slides for learning workshop

KPU Surrey
A2410

Description:

Many educators use slides as a digital projection of their talking points. However, slides designed using empirically derived principles of multimedia learning are a powerful teaching tool that can dramatically improve student outcomes. This workshop introduces faculty to some of the research and theory behind the principles of multimedia learning, illustrates examples of these principles, and give faculty the opportunity to explore how to implement these principles in Powerpoint.

Please note that the workshop will be facilitated using Powerpoint 2016 (PC & thin clients) but participants can also use the Mac version of Powerpoint 2016, and many of the features covered in the workshop are available in Keynote (Mac) and Google Slides.
