Details 

Are you interested in getting to know more about norm-consciousness? In this course, you will get an introduction and can discuss information from a Nordic perspective with students from Nordic countries. Hosted by our partner institution at UCN,  the program will discuss subjects like equal treatment, social justice, the creation of more equal relationships, and the power structure that may exist between care providers and clients/patients. As a participant, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills with different methods that promote equal treatment. The program will dive into norms and values ​​that contribute to our identity, group affiliation, and perceptions of normality. You will be connected with the nursing and health care program instructors at our partner in UCN.  3 ECTS and a certificate from UCN will be granted to those who complete and pass the course. Prerequisites

This course and program is aimed at upper level students (second year or higher) with more than 15 KPU credits (60 ECTS) who plan on going into a heath care career in the future like nursing or another medical practice.  

Program Length 

June 3-7th, 2024 (1 week) 

Tuition Fee

No tuition fee for the program for accepted and nominated students. Students will need to arrange and pay for their travel, transportation, accommodation and personal expenses. 

Accommodation & Transportation

  • You must arrange all transportation to and from UCN.   

  • You must also arrange accommodation yourself by looking at nearby Airbnb's, hotels, or hostels. 

  • UCN may be able to provide suggestions.

  1. Book an advising appointment on Advisor Connect  
    - Select "Study Abroad" and "Sarah Burn" (the Outbound Study Abroad Coordinator). 
    - Select Location as "ONLINE". In person appointments are available on Surrey campus Mondays or Tuesdays.

Funding

You are able to apply for funding and scholarship awards to cover some fees. Application for the award is due at the same time as the opportunity. See Funding and Awards section for more information or email for details.
