Betty Cunnin Cert. Landscape Hort. App. (Kwantlen), C. L. P. (C.N.L.A.), Cert. Qualification (B.C.), B.A. (S.F.U.), M.Ed. (S.F.U.), Cert. Arborist (I.S.A.), Cert. Hort. Tech. (C.N.L.A.)

Betty Cunnin teaches landscape horticulture and arboriculture courses in the School of Horticulture. Betty has over fifteen years experience in the landscape design-build and maintenance sectors both as an employee and sole proprietor of her business.

In 2010, she earned a Master of Education in Instructional Design and Educational Technology. In addition, she maintains multiple landscape and arboriculture industry certifications: Trades Qualified Horticulturist (BC), International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist , ISA Qualified Tree Risk Assessor, and Canadian Landscape Industry Association Certified Landscape Technician and Certified Landscape Professional. In 2005, Betty received the prestigious BC Landscape and Nursery Association ‘Educator of the Year’ Award.

Her key areas of interest are Urban Forestry and Arboriculture. Betty is investigating which tree species, landscape design choices and construction and maintenance practices are best for the preservation and growth of trees found on urban sites in the PNW.
