The purpose of this workshop is to provide an introduction to soft-product for Product Design. The workshop will start with an introduction into soft product development for manufacturing and identify where it is used in the industry. It will cover several methodologies of production for soft-product from no-sew technology, seam sealing, and ultrasonic welding. Participants will work through several hands-on projects, each producing samples using industry standard methods of production. The students will leave the workshop with a basic understanding of soft product development, the textiles used, as well as methodologies and machinery used in the manufacturing of soft-product.
