Arthur Fallick


Dr. Arthur FallickPhD, ISH Director – Sustainable Urban Systems

Dr. Arthur Fallick is an urban Geographer whose research interests include food systems design, urban studies, strategic planning, and human settlements issues. Over the past thirty years, he has contributed to regional planning initiatives in Greater Vancouver including The Livable Region Strategy, Choosing and Creating Our Future, and The Sustainable Region Initiative. Through his association with the UBC Centre for Human Settlements and the Liu Institute for Global Studies, Dr. Fallick has contributed to the UNCHS (HABITAT) and World Urban Forum focus on efforts to reduce unsustainability. As Director, Sustainable Urban Systems, at Kwantlen University's Institute for Sustainable Horticulture, Dr Fallick works closely with Dr Kent Mullinix to advance research and understanding of the potential for Municipally Enabled and Supported Agriculture (MESA) to strengthen bio-regional food systems.
