Jinhee studied violin and viola under the instruction of Calvin Dyck at KPU from 2007 to 2009 in music diploma program. Her other important teachers include Sydney Humphreys, Philippe Etter, and Ian Hampton, former members of the Purcell String Quartet. Before studying at KPU, Jinhee graduated from Simon Fraser University with BA in Geography. Currently, Jinhee is a professional violinist and violist, who has experience in playing in many professional orchestras including Kamloops Symphony, Okanagan Symphony, Prince George Symphony, Vancouver Island Symphony, Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, and Chilliwack Symphony. In 2012, she initiated a viola ensemble with her five viola colleagues and performed “The Magic of Viola” concerts. Her passion in music performance also led her to appear in numerous movies and TV shows as a violinist, violist, and cellist.
Besides being a performer, Jinhee is an entrepreneur in concert production and music business management. She is a founder and producer of the classical concert series, Moment Musicale, which features local and touring artists. Jinhee ran Music at Midweek concert series at KPU and served as a TA in music theory (2010-2013). She also produced a variety of benefit concerts, educational concerts, and music festivals. She adjudicated at the Young Soloist Award Festival in Vancouver with Ian Hampton and has given numerous scholarships to local music students. As a director of Jinhee Park Productions, she contracts musicians and presenters across Canada for all kinds of performance such as concerts, recitals, weddings, corporate events, and movie filming. She developed and produced numerous professional musicians by providing professional performing job opportunities to them.
In 2016, Jinhee completed B.Ed. from SFU and became a school teacher in SD 36. She currently teaches core music at Frost Road Elementary school in Surrey. She also teaches violin and viola privately at her studio. She also has experience in conducting her Moment Musicale string chamber ensemble and in coaching a junior ensemble in the Surrey Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Through her experience in music, Jinhee has become a strong advocate for the power of music, believing that it can transform the lives of many more people, not just her own.
