Muscular strength refers to the bodies ability to exert force. Muscular endurance is the ability of the body to exert sustained forces. For example imagine you have to lift up a heavy box and place it on a table - this is an example of muscular strength. On the other hand what if you had to hold onto a box in your arms for any given length of time, this is an example of muscular endurance. Both are crucial for daily living. A reduction in muscle mass will see a decrease in both abilities - did you know that the average human loses 1/2 lb of muscle every year after roughly the age of 27 - this can be combated with proper exercise!
