Strength

Muscular strength refers to the bodies ability to exert force. Muscular endurance is the ability of the body to exert sustained forces. For example imagine you have to lift up a heavy box and place it on a table - this is an example of muscular strength. On the other hand what if you had to hold onto a box in your arms for any given length of time, this is an example of muscular endurance. Both are crucial for daily living. A reduction in muscle mass will see a decrease in both abilities - did you know that the average human loses 1/2 lb of muscle every year after roughly the age of 27 - this can be combated with proper exercise!
