Description

This Diploma Program prepares students for the Commerce Program at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Admission requirements are set by UBC and are reviewed annually. Students are advised to consult with UBC advisors.

Content

Year 1

The first year of this program requires completion of 30 credits which must include the following: Economics, English and Mathematics courses:

Semester 1

ECON 1150 Principles of Microeconomics
ENGL 1100 Writing, Reading and Thinking: an Introduction
MATH 1140 Calculus I (Business Applications) (see note 1)
Two electives (see note 2)

Semester 2

ECON 1250 Principles of Macroeconomics
ENGL 1202 Topics in Literature
MATH 1240 Calculus II (Business Applications)

Two electives (see note 2)

Year 2

Kwantlen does not offer all required courses for second year of the Commerce Diploma Program. Students are advised to check with Kwantlen advisors to determine availability and scheduling of required courses.

Note:

1. MATH 1120 and MATH 1220 may be substituted for MATH 1140 and MATH 1240. Students planning to complete the Management Information Systems option at UBC must take MATH 1120 and MATH 1220.

2. Students may select electives which carry UBC transfer credit from the Arts (including Economics) and Sciences (including Computer Science). Students must not take ACCT, BUSI, CBSY or MRKT courses as first year electives.
