English Pronunciation for Non-Native Speakers
This course will assist students to identify pronunciation difficulties which prevent them from being easily understood by others, and will help student's to overcome those difficulties and improve their pronunciation. At the beginning of the course, each student will identify, with the assistance of the instructor, the pronunciation difficulties he or she needs to improve. The course will be useful for students who have an intermediate or advanced level of proficiency in spoken English.

This course reinforces, on a practical level, the reading, writing, listening and speaking skills necessary for successful completion of the first-term of the Office Administration program.

Low-level Literacy
Students will learn how to decode written words, recognize common signs and common words based on graphic features, such as the first letter. They will also develop basic handwriting skills, such as holding a pen or pencil; tracing and copying shapes and letters; matching letters and shapes; and forming letters, both upper and lower case.
Prerequisites: An assessment of low literacy on the ENLT Placement Test

This is the first level of a six level English language training program offered by the English Language Training Department. The course integrates all four language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. In this course, students will develop a lower beginner's level of competence in these four skills by participating in a variety of in-class communicative learning tasks and completing reading and writing assignments. The primary focus of this six level program is to provide students with fundamental English skills that enable them to communicate in everyday situations and prepare them for further course work in English for academic purposes.
