English Language Studies for Adults


ELSA 0210 cr-6
English Language for Settlement - ELSA 2
Students will develop basic proficiency in the reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills required for adaptation to life in Canada. All ELSA students are admitted by referral of the Canadian Language Benchmarks Assessment (CLBA) only.
Prerequisites: A composite score of 2 on the CLBA, as provided by an authorized CLBA centre.

English Language for Settlement -
ELSA 3
Students will develop a lower-intermediate level profiency in the reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills required for adapting to life in Canada. (This is a full-time course)
Prerequisites: A composite score of 3 on the Canadian Language Benchmarks Assessment (CLBA), as provided by an authorized CLBA centre,* or successful completion of ELSA 0210.
*Note: All ELSA students are admitted by referral of the CLBA only.
ELSA 0310 cr-6
English Language for Settlement - ELSA 3
Students will develop a lower-intermediate level profiency in the reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills required for adapting to life in Canada. (This is a half-time course)
Prerequisites: A composite score of 3 on the Canadian Language Benchmarks Assessment (CLBA), as provided by an authorized CLBA centre,* or successful completion of ELSA 0210.
