Educational Advising

Educational Advisors are available to explore educational options with you and help to develop an educational plan. Advisors can assist with:

• Program planning
• Course selection
• Repeat Course Requests
• Prerequisites and upgrading information
• Program and graduation requirements
• Transfer to KPU
• Transfer to other institutions
• Understanding KPU academic regulations and policies
• Educational planning for career goals
• Planning for graduate and professional school

Educational Advisors are available to assist students via email and in person through appointments, drop-ins and workshops. For more information, please visit our website at kpu.ca/advising.

International Student Advising

The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) provides advising, resources and coordinates student life activities to help international students succeed in their academics and successfully transition to student life in Canada.

International students are encouraged to contact an OISS International Education Advisor to discuss a range of both academic and non-academic supports that are available. To book an appointment with an advisor, please use the online Advisor Connect booking system at: kpu.ca/advising/advisor-connect.

The Office of International Students and Scholars also has open drop-in times between 2pm-4pm every Monday to Friday at the Surrey campus and the Richmond campus.

If you are a new international student to KPU, be sure to attend the International Student Orientation scheduled each semester at both the Richmond and Surrey campuses.  For more information on dates please visit kpu.ca/international/orientation.

Some of the things that OISS can assist international students with include:

• Course planning, registration and program requirements
• Study, work permits and visas
• Academic deadlines, regulations and policies
• Volunteer and work opportunities on and off campus
• Student activities, peer mentorship and tutoring
