Connor Murdock is a multi-instrumentalist singer, songwriter, composer, producer, and experienced music educator. Connor has taught and developed programs in instrumental, vocal, and contemporary music at the secondary level for 10 years, and in the last two years has also been teaching popular music instruments and music technology with the Sarah McLachlan School of Music.

As a composer, Connor has written original music for a major mobile video game and is currently writing songs and music for a children’s television show. In addition to writing and recording original music, Connor has performed, toured, and/or recorded with contemporary recording artists, bands, and producers including Joshua Smith, Erik Fintelman, Teon Gibbs, Andrew Judah, Common Fires, ROYAL, and Daniel Klenner.

A jazz trombonist, Connor enjoyed playing 2nd Trombone in two university jazz ensembles and was lead trombonist of Kelowna BC’s Dreamland Jazz Band for many years. He has played with the Interior Jazz Festival’s headlining Michael Garding Big Band and is now an alternate jazz trombonist for lower mainland jazz bands.

Connor’s masters research and coursework focused on popular music composition, production, technology, and pedagogies, and he is interested in research on Digital Audio Workstations, factors influencing lifelong participation in music, and accessibility to and in music education. Connor was mentored by mastering artist and popular music researcher Dr. Jay Hodgson at Western University, with whom he completed a directed course of study.
