Aboriginal Teacher Education Award

This award will provide $5,000 annually for up to four years to individual Aboriginal students registered in a teacher education program at a BC post-secondary institution, leading to certification by the British Columbia Teachers' Council. The BC Aboriginal Student Award was established in 2008 as part of the Provincial Government's strategy to improve Aboriginal access and achievement. CFUW Aboriginal Women's Award (AWA)

This award was designed to honour Dr. Marion Elder Grant's life-long commitment to education of women.  Dr. Grant has an outstanding record of leadership as the 11th CFUW President (1949-52), CFUW Wolfville President, and Dean of Women and Professor of Psychology, Acadia University. The CFUW AWA will be granted for studies in specific programs of Law, Medicine, Nurse Practitioner or a Masters in Aboriginal Studies as outlined in the application instructions.  The award is renewable as it is designed to help a successful winner by providing the award for a second year. CN Diversity Scholarship Program

First Citizens' Fund (FCF) Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs

The First Citizens' Fund Student Bursary Program provides funding to students of Aboriginal ancestry to help support their post secondary education. Funded by the Province of British Columbia and delivered by the BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres, eligible applicants must be permanent residents in British Columbia for six months or more at the time of application (not including attendance at post-secondary institution) and registered full-time in a minimum two-year academic program at any BC recognized post-secondary institution. Indspire Bursary and Scholarship Awards Program

Indspire is the largest supporter of Indigenous education outside the Federal Government. The Mungo Martin Memorial Award

The award assists Aboriginal people to further their education, vocational training skills and competence in Aboriginal arts and creative work to further the artistic heritage of the Native peoples in their paintings, carving, music, dance folklore or language. Royal Bank Aboriginal Student Awards

The RBC Royal Bank Aboriginal Student Awards Program was launched in 1992 to assist Aboriginal students to complete post secondary education, and provide an opportunity for RBC to strengthen its relationship with the Aboriginal community. RBC awards 10 scholarships in two categories:

Maxine Sevack Memorial Grant

A scholarship fund has been established by the Sevack Family to honour the memory of their daughter Maxine, a freelance journalist who died in a plane accident in Guatemala in 1986. A bursary in the amount of $500 has been offered by the Ladies' Auxiliary, Branch 160, Royal Canadian Legion, Pacific Command. Praxair International Scholarship

Awarded to a full-time student pursuing a minimum four-year bachelors degree in welding engineering or welding engineering technology; however, priority will be given to welding engineering students.
