Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting

DESCRIPTION

The Bachelor of Business Administration Program provides full and part-time intensive study for students wishing to earn a business degree from Kwantlen.

This degree is an appropriate goal for students who want to study beyond a diploma and their initial two-year equivalent post-secondary education. Students enter the program directly in Year 1 or in Year 3 after successfully completing an accounting diploma from a recognized college, institute or university with a minimum of 60 credits and a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher.

The BBA degree program integrates skills and concepts of advanced accounting, business and leadership.

Degree classes are scheduled for days and evenings to allow students to either further their education while maintaining current employment or study full-time. Many students in year 3 and year 4 are also working.

Some unique features of this program are:

Options: Regular and Co-op Mode

Students may graduate from either the regular Bachelor of Business Administration degree or the optional Co-operative Education option. Students applying for Co-op must complete all prescribed courses with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.7.

In order to receive a Co-operative Education designation, the following criteria must be met in addition to the 120 credit hours of course work:

Please refer to the Co-operative Education section of the calendar or contact the Co-op Education department at 604.599.2664 for more information on the Co-op option.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

In Canada, a degree is now a mandatory prerequisite to the awarding of an accounting designation. Similar requirements are being implemented in other countries that have professional governing bodies.
