KPU Collective

The first few weeks of university might feel overwhelming, and that is OKAY! You are not alone, the KPU Collective Mentorship Program can help you navigate all the new information and guide you through your first semester.  KPU Collective is also a great way to get involved in the KPU community and find your people throughout your first semester here.

Through KPU Collective, you'll be connected to a small group of like-minded new students as well as a pair of peer mentors, or as we like to call them Krew members, through an online blended community.  Not only will you have a community of new students to connect, gather, learn and grow with, through your peer mentors you'll also have someone to answer all of your questions, someone to help you navigate support and campus services, and someone to give you tips on how to get involved at KPU.  All of this will help you get off to a great start here at KPU!

Have questions?  Check out the "Need to Knows" below and contact us at orientation@kpu.ca.

Need to Knows:

KPU Collective is a blended (online and on campus) university community when new students connect with others entering or in their first year at KPU.  In signing up for the program you’ll be paired with a mentor who is part of the KPU Collective Krew.  Your mentor will help make your first-year experience memorable and meaningful.  Each mentor is paired with 8-10 students and with another mentor and their mentees, creating a Collective who are in a shared faculty and who you can connect with and participate in different social events, attend learning workshops, and engage in activities during your first semester with us.

KPU Collective works on a bi-weekly activity cycle, milestone weeks and off-weeks, for the duration of one semester. Throughout the semester, milestone weeks that are based around the ebbs and flows of the semester. During these milestone weeks, each Collective will be tasked with an activity that can earn them points. During off-weeks, KPU Collective Mentors, or the Krew, will touch base with their Collective participants, organize community builders, and engage with you through asynchronous and synchronous activities. At the end of the semester, you'll have developed your own small community here at KPU and have built connections that will last well past the end of the program.

If you are a new domestic KPU student or a first-year KPU student with less than 15 credits completed in an open intake program, KPU Collective is right for you. If you don’t know if this is the right program for you, just ask us and we would be happy to help.

As we mentioned before, KPU Collective is a great way to meet fellow KPU students who are just starting their journey with us. We know how exciting starting university can be but we also know it can be nerve-wracking and we want to help you make this transition fun and informative. By signing up for KPU Collective, you'll be connected to other new, like-minded KPU students as well as senior student leaders who will share tips, stories, and their own KPU experiences.
