Institute for Sustainable Food Systems
The Institute for Sustainable Food Systems applied research and outreach programming focuses on small scale, low input, ecologically sound, human-intensive, de-commodified agriculture and ancillary business, as a foundational and integral element of sustainable community and society. Research includes the environmental and social benefits, potential for increased food security, reduction of farmland loss to urban encroachment, job, and business creation, and wealth generation.

Institute for Sustainable Horticulture
ISH has been created to act as a hub and network that will benefit the horticulture sector. Through “third party” informed analysis as well as positioning on critical public policy, business innovation, and community relations issues, ISH is creating substantive partnerships.

Applied Genomics Centre
Founded in January 2019, the Applied Genomics Centre at Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Surrey campus is an applied research lab focused on developing molecular genetic (genomic) and cellular product (metabolomic) solutions for the agricultural and human health sectors, particularly in British Columbia.
