Office of the Vice Provost, Students
Welcome to KPU and the Office of the Vice Provost for Students. If you are a new student to KPU, I want to congratulate you on taking this next step in your formal education. If you are a returning student, I want to welcome you back and thank you for your contributions to making KPU such an exciting place to learn and work.
The Office of the Vice Provost, Students oversees the areas that provide services and supports for new and continuing students, including the Registrar’s Office, Sport & Recreation, Co-operative Education, Career and Volunteer Services, Indigenous Services for Students, Academic Advising, Counselling Services, Assessment & Testing Services, Services for Students with Disabilities, and Student Awards and Financial Assistance. My Office also acts as the University’s liaison with the Kwantlen Student Association. We work closely with the student association to provide additional opportunities and services for students and our campus communities.
KPU is a unique post-secondary institution. We are Canada’s only polytechnic university and the largest teaching-intensive university in Western Canada. We have grown rapidly over the past 10 years and now support almost 20,000 students across four campuses annually. Our range of programs is second to none. At KPU, you can study to become a millwright, philosopher, physicist, journalist, farrier (specialist in foot care for horses) or marketing manager. If you are not yet ready to tackle undergraduate studies, we will help you get the upgrading you need. If you are not certain that a bachelor’s program is for you, we offer a range of shorter certificate and diploma programs as well as four-year bachelor’s degrees and post-baccalaureate programs.
Whether you are a student, a community member, a staff or faculty member, an alumnus, or all of the above, we are delighted to have you as part of our community. At KPU everyone contributes to the support and development of our students and it shows. Our graduates are confident, passionate and work-ready individuals who contribute to the future of the university and to the communities we serve. I look forward to meeting and working with you over the coming months and years to make KPU an even more exciting place to be.
