From submission to the completion of the Student Innovation Research Grant, I have gained valuable experience in applying for a grant which requires significant planning of all the logistical aspects of conducting a research study before running the study; however, being organized and disciplined throughout the process ensures success. The SRIG has been of great help to my study, in which I used the entire grant to reimburse my subjects for their participation. Receiving the grant allowed me the financial flexibility of compensating more participants than I first envisioned without having to worry about personally investing capital into my research study. I would recommend all students belonging to any field of study who are conducting undergraduate research to apply for this grant, because this is a great opportunity to gain research and innovation experiences.
