Call for Educational Consultant Time Release Opportunity
Seconded from their respective faculty appointment through a partial time release, the role of Educational Consultant is intended to serve the Teaching and Learning Commons Team in our efforts to support the further development of teaching expertise of KPU educators and the activities and efforts of the Teaching and Learning Commons. As an Educational Consultant, you will offer evidence-based and complementary expertise to your colleagues and serve as a steward and broker for the community “network” and “knowledge base” around teaching and learning at KPU. Working in the highly collaborative environment of the Commons, your work may include developing resources, facilitating/co-facilitating workshops, providing input as requested on elements of the Teaching and Learning Commons’ strategy, helping to adjudicate applications for the Teaching & Learning Innovation Fund, and attending regular meetings of the Educational Consultants group and the Teaching and Learning Commons team. This appointment provides an exciting leadership opportunity for KPU faculty members to support the development of the teaching expertise of their colleagues. This portfolio aims to support the further development of KPU educators in acquiring competencies that maximize folio thinking, the integration of ePortfolios into the curriculum, and the use of PebblePad, KPU's new ePortfolio platform" The successful candidate will have experience using ePortfolios, designing activities and assessments for students that utilize ePortfolios and be knowledgeable about digital citizenship and folio thinking practices. Included in this appointment will be a requirement to provide consultation to colleagues, facilitate workshops and/or communities of practice, review research for evidence-based practices, and develop resources (infographics, webinars, handouts etc.) and training for educators.
