KPU Civic Plaza
Located at 13485 Central Avenue, our brand new campus is conveniently located directly on the SkyTrain's Expo Line adjacent to Surrey Central Station and the bus loop.
Situated on the Surrey Centre Plaza, this campus is within walking distance of local restaurants, coffee shops and shopping, neighbouring both Surrey City Hall and the iconic Surrey Centre Library.
The campus itself is accessed via an elevator from the Surrey City Hall parkade, or from an elevator in the ground-floor lobby of the newly opened Civic Hotel, currently Surrey’s tallest building.
KPU's Melville School of Business offers post-baccalaureate and graduate diplomas at KPU Civic Plaza. Additionally, KPU's Continuing & Professional Studies Division also offers programs at this campus.
The campus features a mix of modern, flexible, formal and informal learning spaces, linked by a common staircase:
- Six 35-seat classrooms
- Five 25-seat classrooms
- Four open spaces that allow for students and employees to engage in individual and group work
- Seven bookable meeting rooms
- Welcome areas with flexible seating on each floor adjacent to the elevators
- Microwave station
- Employee lounge with kitchenette facilities and drop-in workspace that includes two bookable offices and a bookable meeting room
- Prayer and meditation room
- Broadcast centre
- Assessment and Testing Centre
KPU Civic Plaza is currently operating as a testing center as well as for post-baccalaureate classes. However, students who do not have a class at that campus can still utilize the common area on the 6th floor as a study space. For any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students and employees will be granted access to Civic Plaza using their KPU ID card. KPU Cards can be requested at kpu.ca/kpucard. Use the form to have your KPU Card sent to Civic Plaza. Civic Plaza does not print KPU Cards nor take photos for the cards.
Students (who have their classes scheduled at the Civic campus) and employees will be required to scan their KPU ID Card in the elevator to access Levels 5, 7 and 8. Access control setting for KPU ID Cards will be dependent on the need of the individual.
Existing online bookstore services will be offered at KPU Civic Plaza, which means that students can order their course material through the Bookstore website to the campus of their choice, including Civic Plaza, at no additional cost, or to their home for a minimal cost. The Concierge will sign-off on the student pick-up. Students may also shop in person at the Surrey campus Bookstore.
Security personnel are on campus during all operating hours and provide a variety of services, including response to security-related issues, safe walk, check-in on persons working alone, and lost and found. It is recommended that students and employees download the "KPUSafe" app to be kept up to date on safety and security issues. Security can be reached by phone at 604-598-5276.
The KPU Civic Plaza campus is situated adjacent to the Surrey Central SkyTrain Station, which is located at 10278–135 Street. The station and adjacent bus loop form a central regional transit hub servicing all major local communities.
