The SRIG has been an amazing experience! It has allowed me to apply the skills we are learning to the real world and make connections along the way. I was lucky to be able to use my SRIG to help support a current KPU ISFS research project that was happening in my community of Bowen Island, BC. The project is looking at improving food resiliency and overall sustainability of the food system on Bowen Island by accessing the possibility of increased food production on the island. It will be exciting to see how my research will be used to improve the sustainability of my community!
