Graduate Nurse Refresher
GNUR 1100 cr-16
Theory
Students will upgrade their nursing knowledge and skills in
preparation for returning to active nursing practice. The course will
focus on health assessment and promotion, degenerative processes
and professional responsibilities. Students will complete self-paced
theory modules and require some computer skills for test writing.
This course focuses on the clinical application of the concepts and
principles learned in GNUR 1100. Learning experiences are in
selected clinical areas.
Students will upgrade their knowledge and skills related to nursing
practice. They will complete labs and workshops related to
psychomotor skills, interpersonal skills and changes in nursing.

Preceptorship
Students will apply knowledge and skills learned in GNUR 1100,
Graduate Nurse Refresher Theory. They will study full time with a
preceptor on a medical, surgical or extended care unit.
Students will be working with a preceptor in a nursing practice
setting. They will apply knowledge and skills necessary for current
nursing practise.
Prerequisites: GNUR 1180, CPR Level C current throughout GNUR
1210, TB screen, Criminal Record Search within 6 months prior to registering
in GNUR 1210.

Lab & Workshop Course: Graduate Nurse Refresher
Students will upgrade their knowledge and skills related to nursing
practice. They will complete labs and workshops related to
psychomotor skills, interpersonal skills and changes in nursing
practice.
Prerequisites: GNUR 1100 or approval of the Coordinator
