The role of the Office of Research and Scholarship (ORS):

RESEARCH SERVICES AND ADMINISTRATION:

  • 1. Assist KPU researchers in the preparation of proposals and related administrative aspects of sponsored projects.
  • 2. Oversee the negotiation, execution and administration of sponsored project grants and contracts from inception through to closeout.
  • 3. Work with faculty to identify funding options, create and implement research plans, develop project management metrics, and prepare project and accountability reports (e.g. workshops, peer-support & review, webinars etc.).

PROMOTING A CULTURE OF DISCOVERY & INNOVATION:

  • 4. Support research clusters.
  • 5. Build critical mass around research themes/areas.
  • 6. Encourage collaboration and partnerships.

TRANSLATING RESEARCH AND SCHOLARSHIP INTO ACTION:

  • 7. Showcase the KPU research community online/offline through various forms of knowledge mobilization and knowledge transfer strategies. (For example, compelling visual narratives, stories, achievements, and engagement opportunities in both curiosity-driven and applied research areas.)
